It has been quite the long and agonizing wait, but as they say, good things always come to those who wait. I guess you can say the same for Google Maps for the iOS platform, which was ditched when iOS 6 was released, only for iOS users to be left with the “unwanted child” of Apple, that is, Apple Maps. Well, there has been rumblings in the past of Google Maps making a comeback on iOS, and here we are ladies and gentlemen – Google Maps for iPhone is now available, rolling across worldwide in the Apple App Store.

Specially designed from the ground up to merge the comprehensiveness and accuracy of Google Maps with an interface that makes search a snap, the new Google Maps for iPhone is a vector-based map that loads in a snap, delivering smooth tilting and rotating of 2D and 3D views. It will be available for the iPhone and iPod Touch (4th gen) iOS 5.1 and higher, across 40 plus countries and will come in 29 languages, where among them include Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish.
