Just what can you do with $99 these days? Not much actually, and a meal at a fine dining restaurant for two would easily gobble into that kind of budget, let alone one of those high tech gifts that marketing folks love to push across the board, especially during the holiday season. Well, how about a $99 tablet that you would like to take into consideration? There is the Acer Iconia B1 which has been whispered by many to arrive in the market soon, sporting a $99 price tag which frankly, might just eat into the potential sales of other tablets such as the iPad mini, the Kindle Fire HD and the Google Nexus 7.

So far, we do know of a 7” display that is whispered to share a similar resolution as that of the aged BlackBerry Playbook, which stands at a rather disappointing 1024 x 600 pixels alongside a pixel density of 170ppi. Other than that, there are rumors going around of a 1.2GHz processor located under the hood, a SIM card slot for data connectivity, and who knows, with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on board, this might prove to be quite the desirable device to own, no?
