Windows Phone 8 Ported To HTC HD2

If there is a phone with a longevity award, then you can say that the HTC HD2 would pick up the gong. It was a powerhouse when it rolled out three years ago in 2009, and back then it was touted to be one of the most powerful smartphones to ship with Windows Mobile 6.5 on board. Yeah, it was that long ago. The thing is, HTC and Microsoft never rolled out Windows Phone 7 for the HD2, so it is a good thing that hackers did their bit to port over a plethora of other operating systems – Windows Phone 7, Windows Phone 7.5, MeeGo, Ubuntu, and Google Android even.

Guess Windows Phone 8 is the latest bad boy to make an appearance on the phone that just would not die, thanks to the efforts of the folks over at the Dark Forces Team. The thing is, they have just posted photos of it instead of a video, so we have no idea on just how smooth (or isn’t) it runs on the HTC HD2.
