For those of you who are keeping your fingers crossed that the variant of the Windows Phone 8-powered Nokia Lumia 820 will be released on other mobile carriers such as Verizon Wireless, it is time for you to break out in a jig and flash a wide smile. We have managed to get hold of an image of the yet unreleased Nokia Lumia 822 with Verizon livery, although that is not exactly the official designation of the handset. Word on the street has it that the Lumia 822 will retail for approximately $50 on a 2-year contract, where it will also carry with it the usual slew of Nokia-powered applications such as Nokia Drive and the likes.

Other hardware specifications include 16GB of internal memory, and just in case that is not enough for you (it never nearly is for most folks, I believe), it is good to know that Verizon will follow the global version of the Lumia 820 by throwing in a microSD memory card slot. We do look forward to an official announcement by Verizon in due time, considering how close the Windows Phone 8 release date is.
