Coke-powered phone concept

Our bodies are like machines – it needs fuel to run, and that would translate to carbohydrates. Some of us do love ‘empty calories’ like carbonated drinks such as Coca-Cola, and the future too, might see smartphones that have a liking for such a drink as well. This particular concept would ditch the lithium ion battery as an energy source, but rather, run on Coca-Cola instead. If released and adopted on a mass scale, this would mean it is the first cellphone of its kind that will rely on “bio energy” in order to replace the traditional battery role.

Chinese designer Daizhi Zheng is the brainchild behind the Coca-Cola powered device, and I am quite sure that Pepsi would work just fine as well. According to Zheng, he has been working on this device for Nokia, and even sugar-sweetened water would be able to get the job done, running longer compared to lithium batteries. What do you think of this idea? Will it catch on? I hope that the battery lid would be securely fastened, otherwise there might be ants crawling all over the place.
