If you happen to be rocking to AT&T’s Sony Xperia Ion, then you will be pleased to know that you no longer need to get bogged down by Android 2.3 Gingerbread, considering how the mobile carrier has officially announced that the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system is now readily available for your updating pleasure.

While it might not be Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, Ice Cream Sandwich brings along with it a whole slew of improvements to the mobile operating system, where among them include a spanking new browser that has improved page loading, tabbed browsing, offline reading and desktop mode. You will also be able to unlock directly to the camera or other functions, while creating home screen folders is as easy as dragging one app icon onto another. Swipe away notifications using the new notifications bar for that added touch of convenience. Have you, as an Xperia Ion owner, already performed the operating system update? If you haven’t done so already, what is holding you back?
