They say that a rose, by any other name, would smell just as sweet. Well, I guess this is why T-Mobile decided to call the original Huawei MediaPad tablet as the SpringBoard, and it does hark back to the days of the Palm Pilot where there was this Handspring name which was bandied about. But I digress – back to news about the T-Mobile SpringBoard which is said to receive the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update this Wednesday via Over The Air (OTA), meaning you should more or less see a new lease of life for your precious tablet.

Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich will definitely be very different from the Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system that came with the SpringBoard, as it is said to deliver a far more fluid touch experience which is a whole lot more responsive, while the bug that churns out an unrecognized SIM card error has been removed. Do expect to experience better Wi-Fi signal reception as well, while memory allocation has been improved to pave the way for the T-Mobile SpringBoard to receive operating system updates down the road.

Make sure you have hooked up your T-Mobile SpringBoard to a power outlet, while connecting it to a Wi-Fi network for an optimal upgrade path that is smooth as butter. Oh yeah, make sure your SpringBoard also has at least 90MB of space left available.
