Does anyone remember earlier this year when LG debuted the L Series of smartphones, coming in the form of the Optimus L3, the Optimus L5, and the Optimus L7? Well, here is news for you – the latest addition to the L Series family from LG would come in the form of the LG Optimus L9, and you know for sure that this is going to be the L Series’ flagship model by all intents and purposes. The LG Optimus L9 will come with a body that measures just 9.1mm thin, sporting a metallic streak and modern square style which delivers a comfortable grip.

As for the kind of hardware which you can find underneath the hood, we are looking at a 4.7-inch IPS display, a high-density 2,150mAh SiO+ battery, a 1GHz dual core processor, 1GB RAM, 4G of internal memory, a 5-megapixel shooter at the back and a 1.3-megapixel frotn facing camera. It has DLNA support, in addition to the new QTranslator function which is touted to instantly translate words, whole sentences and phrases using but a simple scan with its camera, where the LG Optimus L9 will then draw from its reserves of nearly 44 foreign languages to 64 user languages.

Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology has also been thrown into the mix, allowing it to recognize letters upon scanning with the camera, while making use of the electronic dictionary or online translation engine so that it can translate words, sentences or phrases. [Press Release]
