LG Optimus Black might receive Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich after all

When it comes to the Android operating system, there is one particular issue that has affected many companies, be they carriers or the phone manufacturers themselves – that of fragmentation each time a new version of the Android operating system is announced. There are still many handsets out there that are running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, waiting for the Ice Cream Sandwich update when Jelly Bean has already been announced. Well, LG has their own fair share of struggles, and the LG Optimus Black was touted to remain stuck at Android 2.3 Gingerbread in the past, but the latest leaked photo of a retail, unopened box with the LG Optimus Black inside seems to point otherwise – after all, there is a “Android 4.0 ICS upgradable” sticker located on the outside of the box.

No idea which country did this particular photo hail from, but it should not be from South Korea considering the sticker itself is in English. Hopefully it is a legit image and sticker, so that means LG Optimus Black owners have something to look forward to in the weeks ahead – and hopefully not months.
