Remember that there were a couple of images spotted in the past that carried what was then deemed to be the HTC Proto? It seems that HTC Proto is just the nickname for the handset which will eventually be marketed to the masses as the HTC Desire X. It does seem to be rather likely that we will see the HTC Desire X announced at IFA 2012 in Berlin, Germany, where this will be a far smaller handset compared to its flagship HTC One X, and you can be sure that for this time, a smaller size equals to smaller performance.

Still, from the leaked specifications that we will share below, the HTC Desire X does not seem to be gimped in any way. For starters, there is a 4” WVGA resolution Super LCD display, HSPA/WCDMA(Asia/Europe 900/2100 MHz), GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz) support, a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, a dual-core 1GHz processor, 4GB ROM, 768MB RAM, a microSD memory card slot, and for fans of cloud storage, a Dropbox account which is good for 2 years and 25GB of storage space.
