Sony Mobile recently rolled out the open source code for their Xperia S Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich firmware, which carries the version number 6.1.A.0.452. This particular open source code will hold all the relevant files required for a budding third-party developer in order to construct a kernel – and ultimately, their very own ROM just for the Xperia S. This might just start off as a spring board for newer Ice Cream Sandwich ROMs on the Xperia S down the road. It would be interesting to see what might just come out of it in the end.
