ZTE Grand X LTE announces at CommunicAsia 2012

ZTE has just announced their first single-chip LTE smartphone in the world, calling it the ZTE Grand X LTE – or T82 if model numbers are your cup of tea. First arriving in Asia Pacific, it will be followed by Europe sometime in the third quarter of this year. No word on an American release just yet though, so we will just keep our eyes peeled. The Grand X LTE will be powered by the most recent MSM8960 chip from Qualcomm, where it was constructed using advanced 0.28nm technology. ZTE claims that their single-chip model is faster and more energy efficient compared to other similar models in the marketplace, so hopefully they are right on that claim.

The Grand X LTE will offer Wi-Fi connectivity, running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor at its heart, accompanied by an 8-megapixel main camera which also does 1080p HD video shooting and playback, while the front camera will be able to support 720p HD video calls. The smartphone will also be equipped with a decently sized 1900mAh battery – that ought to make it last for quite some time before you need to juice it up again, although I do believe it still, is unable to last until the end of the day on a full charge.
