TomTom’s maps data licensed to Apple for iOS 6 use

When it comes to navigational apps which are free and easy to use, I am quite sure that many of us would vouch for Google’s Google Maps. After all, the desktop experience is seamlessly translated to the mobile platform, regardless of which major mobile operating system you use, and the information is often accurate and up to date. Not only that, Google Maps also offers transit information which would make life easier when you want to plan your journey, especially if you are in an unfamiliar territory. Well, Apple has made strides with their new Maps app for iOS 6, but I would say that it still lacks the “death dealing blow” of transit information, although Apple’s latest foray is commendable to say the least – after using maps data licensed from TomTom. Other folks might prefer what Garmin is using at the moment, but it is really splitting hairs here.
