Sony Xperia Play to get Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update?

It did seem as though the Sony Xperia Play, although just launched last year, will not be getting the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system update. However, things do look set to change for the better, as it has been announced that the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Xperia firmware (build version 4.1.B.0.431) is slowly but surely making its way to the entire range of Xperian smartphones released last year. All of them, save for the Xperia Play, as Sony Mobile did share their reasons as to why this gaming device will not be on the receiving end of the ICS update.

Never mind that, but it seems that the tables might turn, as Ice Cream Sandwich firmware for the Xperia Play was recently certified by the PTCRB. This might mean that Sony Mobile has changed their mind, or it could be just a near final ICS firmware build being prepared for the Xperia Play before Sony Mobile decided to call it quits then.
