Samsung ChatON messaging service arrives on Windows Phone platform

Samsung has finally delivered to Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform another app from their own stable, the ChatON messaging app, which means it is now available across all four of the smartphone industry’s most prominent operating systems – iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone. First unveiled in August last year, this multi-platform mobile messaging service basically enables users to send text, images and video clips between Samsung’s collection of Android and Bada powered smartphones, in addition to other rival platforms as well. Can someone say Whatsapp here?

Originally it came bundled with Samsung devices, but smartphone owners did have the option of downloading ChatOn from Google Play since October last year, while the iOS version of the app was “born” at the App Store early this year. To get an idea on just how widespread is the use of the ChatON app, the Android version did pass the one million downloads so far, although the rate of downloads did drop since it was introduced to the masses.
