Google Maps gets updated for the London Olympics

Published

on

So the Olympics are expected to take place in London later this summer. Undoubtedly this will bring about many tourists, most of whom will more than likely be taking London’s public transport system. Well the good news for locals and tourists is that Google has recently updated its Maps service to include live information about the underground train system’s possible delays. This is to help locals and tourists in the city avoid any unnecessary trouble or delays during their visit to the city.

The updated Maps can be accessed via the web version of Google Maps for non-Android users, or the Google Maps app for those with Android devices. On top of real-time alerts about possible delays or downtime, Google has also added information about upcoming planned engineering works that take place on weekends to help visitors plan ahead. A great idea by Google and we guess we will have to wait until the London Olympics to see how effectively this new update performs.
