Verizon to offer free mobile hotspot feature on the new iPad

One of the upcoming features of Apple’s new iPad is its hotspot feature. Couple that with a 4G LTE connection, owners of the new iPad that don’t own 4G LTE capable phones will soon be able to enjoy speedy connections even on their non-4G devices. However it seems that as far as carriers are concerned, only Verizon will be offering the hotspot feature to their subscribers for free, while AT&T will not be enabling that option for now, although they may change their mind at some point in the future. Verizon has also announced that the data plans will be charged at their regular prices, which means $30 for 2GB, and $80 for 10GB, all of which will include the hotspot feature. AT&T on the other hand was quoted as saying “We are working with Apple to enable this feature in the future, but we currently do not offer it.” If the hotspot feature is an extremely important feature to you, it looks like it might be no-brainer as to which carrier you should go for.
