Verizon rumored to have passed on a Nokia Windows Phone device

Verizon subscribers, if you were looking forward to getting your hands on Nokia’s Lumia series of Windows Phone handsets, you might be in for a disappointment. According to recent reports, it seems that Verizon might have scrapped their plans at launching a Windows Phone 7.5 device over concerns of the platform’s lack of support for LTE networks, although we’re guessing these were concerns felt prior to the launch of the Lumia 900 LTE.

We’re not sure why Verizon might pass up on the Lumia 900, but the reports are also suggesting that instead of Windows Phone 7.5, Verizon might be holding off until the Apollo update drops, also known as Windows Phone 8. In the mean time, Verizon is currently stocking the HTC Trophy, the carrier’s first and only Windows Phone to date. Naturally we’d advise taking this info with a grain of salt, but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled regardless, so stay tuned.
