Toshiba LT170 can hardly be called a budget tablet

Budget devices are subjective, although in this case it looks like Toshiba might have taken some creative liberties with the word “budget”. The company has recently announced the Toshiba LT170 Android tablet, a device whose specs could be considered low-end, but surprisingly comes with a price tag that would make one believe that they are buying something mid-ranged. So what kind of specs are we talking about here? Well for starters, the LT170 tablet will feature a 7” display, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage and will be powered by a 1GHz Freescale CPU. So how much are they charging for this device? Well assuming that Toshiba did not get their pricing wrong, they are asking for a whopping $400 for the LT170, a price that would have netted up a better specced tablet such as the HTC Flyer or even the Blackberry Playbook.
