Samsung releases Galaxy S2 Android 4.0 source code

While Samsung is busy rolling out the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for some of its Galaxy S2 owners around the world (US still waiting for its release), it looks like if you’d rather not have Android 4.0 with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI loaded onto your Galaxy S2, the good news is that Samsung has also released the source code for the Android 4.0 update, which means that developers will be able to start cooking up some custom ROMs and mods that will most probably do away with the TouchWiz UI that most Android users seem to prefer anyway. If you’re an interested developer, or if you’re a curious user who would like to take a peek under the hood, head on down to the Samsung Open Source Release Center for the download.
