Samsung hopes to design a phone that “defines our time”

Over the past week, there have been a ton of alleged Samsung Galaxy S3 leaks, with each leak claiming to be the Galaxy S3. While the device is highly-anticipated, based on a variety of comments and feedback from various media outlets and our own personal opinion, the leaks unfortunately did not take our breaths away as far as the design of the phone was concerned, and we really hope that those leaks were not the design of a product that “defines our time”, at least as far as Samsung’s vice president of design, Lee Minhyouk, was quoted as saying.

“I’m confident that one day Samsung will make a product that defines our time, and I hope it’s one of mine.”

It should also be noted that one of the reasons Samsung had deigned to reveal the Samsung Galaxy S3 at CES or MWC was because they were afraid of their rivals copying their design, and the fact that they wanted to keep the gap between its launch and its availability as small as possible. From the design perspective and based on what we’ve seen, the alleged leaks don’t seem to be groundbreaking – they’re not ugly, but it’s not a design we can foresee their rivals clamoring to copy. So, could the Galaxy S3 be the design that Lee Minhyouk is talking about? In any case, a lot of hype has been built up over the Galaxy S3, so let’s hope Samsung doesn’t disappoint!
