New iPhone to be launched in summer [Rumor]

So with the new iPad out, the next mobile device that iOS fans are looking forward to is most likely going to be the iPhone 5, except that according a recent set of rumors, it could simply be known as the new iPhone, much like how Apple decided to drop the “3” suffix from the third-generation iPad in favor of just calling it the new iPad, a move that’s supposedly in line with the company’s new marketing strategy.

In any case, the rumors have also suggested that come summer of 2012 at WWDC, Apple is set to reveal the new iPhone, a tradition that started with the first iPhone and ended with the iPhone 4S which was only unveiled during the fall of 2012, which is why these are a set of rumors that might be a bit hard to believe. Apple, along with other manufacturers, have typically made it a point to push out refreshes on a yearly basis, so for them to introduce the iPhone 4S’ successor less than a year into its life cycle would most definitely be angering iPhone 4S owners who might feel slightly cheated.

We suggest taking this with a grain of salt for now, but with WWDC scheduled for the summer of 2012, we guess we only have a few months to wait and see if the rumors start to pick up and if they will eventually pan out.
