One of the persistent rumors to have followed the next-generation iPad is that it will sport 4G LTE connectivity. We have dismissed it as wishful thinking in the past namely because of the nature of 4G LTE, which while fast, consumes more battery than Apple would have liked. However according to a report by Reuters, it seems that they are convinced that the next-gen iPad will sport 4G LTE connectivity and is set to be a “game changer”, enticing users to purchase the device and boost the telecoms market overall. Unfortunately Apple, AT&T and Verizon refused to comment on the matter, although given that both carriers have teased an impending announcement, we can’t help but feel that it looks like a 4G LTE capable iPad might not be such a stretch of the imagination after all. In any case, the announcement of the next-gen iPad is only a matter of hours away, so we guess we will try to keep the speculation to a minimum for now and we’ll back to report with the official details upon its launch, so stay tuned!
