HTC One S micro arc oxidation process shown off in video

HTC certainly has a penchant for experimenting with different design materials for their smartphones over the years, in an effort to stand out from the rest of the competition. Most of HTC’s offerings these days come with an aluminum uni-body shell, but with the HTC One S‘ introduction at the recently concluded Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, it was trumpeted that the device’s exterior shell is made out of a single piece of aircraft 6,000 series aluminum after it has been treated with micro arc oxidation, enabling it to hold ceramic properties as well as increase its strength by up to 5 times. The micro arc oxidation process will blast the aluminum shell of the HTC One S with 10,000 volts, resulting in a microscopic chemical reaction that will also alter the color to a soft black. Why not see the entire micro arc oxidation process in the video above?
