When Google’s mobile payment service, Google Wallet, was first launched, it was only available on Sprint’s Nexus S handset. Not surprising given that the Nexus S is a Google phone, and that Sprint is Google’s partner as far as NFC mobile payment services are concerned. Well the good news for non-Nexus S owners is that Google has announced they will be expanding Google Wallet to at least 10 more devices by the end of the year.

At the moment on the Nexus S has official support, but the Galaxy Nexus and LG Viper 4G are expected to follow suit. We know that there has been a bit of security scare regarding Google Wallet, so we’re interested in seeing how Google plans to fix the issue and convince manufacturers, operators and potential partners to adopt their new NFC mobile payment service.

In the US, Google Wallet is currently facing competition from Isis, who is currently being backed by the remaining three carriers, along with a handful of major manufacturers and credit card companies.
