Apple’s new iPad has sold 3 million units

Products released by Apple are usually met with enthusiasm, and it seems that this time around, the new iPad was no exception, so much so that Apple decided to release a statement informing us of how well the new iPad has done. According to Apple, it appears that 3 million new iPads were sold since its launch on the 16th of March in the US and selected countries all over the world.

If we had to guess, its brand new Retina display and its LTE connectivity probably helped to seal the deal for many first time iPad buyers, along with a brand new upgraded camera which was one of the many new features that iPad 2 owners were asking for. 24 additional countries are expected to receive the new iPad officially this week on the 23rd of March, which includes Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Macau, Mexico, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.
