Apple could legally force Motorola to destroy their infringing products

For those who have been following the patent news, you guys are probably aware that Apple has been granted an injunction against Motorola over a photo gallery patent. iOS users are probably familiar with the patent that bounces the image back a bit when the user has attempted to zoom into the photo too far. However it seems that apart from being granted an injunction, it has been reported that the courts have also granted Apple the ability to require Motorola to destroy any infringing products in the company’s possession in Germany that are infringing upon the patent, along with the ability to recall those products from Motorola’s retailers across Germany as well. While it is certainly in Apple’s power and right to do so, it seems highly unlikely that they will do it, and the good news for Motorola owners is that a simple software update sent to the infringing devices should help the company circumvent the injunction, assuming they are to the court’s satisfaction.
