Android 5.0 to be called Jelly Bean? ASUS seems to think so

We know that Android 5.0 will be launched this year with Google’s launch history. Many have speculated the name of the upcoming update, and given Google’s history with naming their Android operating systems after desserts and in alphabetical order, some have suggested that Android 5.0 will be called Jelly Bean. When asked about it at MWC, Google refused to comment on the matter nor confirm it, although it seems that this time ASUS might have let on more than they should.

In an interview given to TechRadar, ASUS’s Corporate Vice President was quoted as saying, “Asus is very close to Google, so once they have Android 5.0 I think there will be a high possibility that we will be the first wave to offer the Jelly Bean update.” Did the Jelly Bean name just get confirmed? Is ASUS that close with Google where they would have shared the codename of Android 5.0 with them, or is ASUS simply basing the Jelly Bean moniker on the same internet speculations that we have been seeing lately?
