Alleged leaked Samsung Galaxy S3 rendering looks weird

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is scheduled for release later this year, although to be fair we’re still waiting for the official announcement which is expected to be made by the middle of the year, but the image you are looking at is allegedly a leaked press shot of the upcoming device sent in by a tipster to the good folks over at PhoneArena. Right off the bat, we can see that Samsung has decided to lose the physical buttons in favor of soft keys which we guess is a possibility given that the Galaxy S3 will come with Android 4.0 on board.

However if one were to take a look closely, there are certain discrepancies in the rendering that leads us to thinking that maybe it could be a fake. For starters, the font used is a bit too big, the notification panel a bit too vague and the entire display looks like someone took an existing rendering and slapped something on in Photoshop. We have a strong suspicion that it could be a fake, but we won’t write it off completely just yet, so take this with a grain of salt for now until more information can be uncovered! In the mean time, what do you guys think? Real or fake?
