The iPad 3 is scheduled to see a launch next Wednesday, the 7th of March, and apart from the usual lineup of iPads, it seems that according to Digitimes, Apple is set to unveil an 8GB iPad 2. This seems in line with the iPhone 4S launch which also saw the launch of the 8GB iPhone 4, a more affordable option for those who wanted the iPhone but would have to sacrifice a bit on storage capacity. Digitimes has had a pretty spotty track record so far, so we wouldn’t read too much into this for now, although to be honest an 8GB iPad 2 at a lower price point isn’t exactly a stretch of the imagination.
