ZTE Light Tab II launching in the UK

For our friends in the UK, if you were thinking of getting your hands on an affordable tablet, ZTE might have something in store for you guys. The company has recently announced the ZTE Light Tab II which sports a price tag of £235, a somewhat modest price tag for a tablet with mid-ranged features, although we’re guessing that it should be good enough to get the job done, unless of course you’re after hardcore gaming and watching 1080p videos, then maybe you’ll want to look elsewhere.

In terms of hardware, the ZTE Light Tab II will feature a 7” display with a 1.4GHz single-core Qualcomm MSM8255 processor under the hood. It will also come with 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded via microSD card, a rear-facing camera, a front-facing camera and a battery life boasting 5.5 hours worth of movie playback. Unfortunately it appears that the 7” ZTE Light Tab II will only come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread preinstalled, as opposed to the 7”-friendly Android 3.2 Honeycomb, or even Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, although at the moment there’s no word from ZTE if there are plans to update it.
