Windows Phone Tango leaked screenshots

Windows Phone Tango is the next update that Microsoft will be rolling out to Windows Phone devices. Unlike Mango and the upcoming Apollo, Tango will not be considered a major update and will in fact open up the doors to even more affordable and low-end Windows Phone devices. Well thanks to some leaked screenshots, it looks like we have gotten a better idea of what to expect.

Thanks to the leak, we have learnt that Tango will allow the exporting of contacts to SIM, manage roaming capabilities, handle multiple attachments in MMS and it would also appear that Microsoft is building a native voice recording application for MMS messages. Further proof that Tango is expected to be aimed at lower-end devices includes the pushing of hardware requirements down to a mere 256MB of RAM and will see Windows Phone Tango devices sport a minimum 3MP camera.

This isn’t really a bad thing as it creates more affordable Windows Phone handsets which could encourage adoption, although to be honest even the high-end Windows Phone handsets aren’t exactly expensive to begin with, at least compared to the iPhone and high-end Android handsets. Either way for more information on Tango, check back with us towards the end of the month as Microsoft is expected to reveal more details on the update then.
