Verizon has teased us for a while with the Motorola DROID 4, a QWERTY keyboard slideout Android device that was officially unveiled at CES 2012. At the time of unveiling, no release date was mentioned although recent rumors have pegged it at a February 10th release. Well the good news is that the 10th February date seems to have been confirmed and we will be seeing the device launch then, which means that you should be able to pick one up for yourself after work and enjoy it over the weekend. It is also expected to keep to its pricing of $200 for the device on a new two-year contract with the carrier.

So if the Motorola DROID 4 is the handset you’ve been waiting for, Friday might be a day worth marking down in your calendar. Reports have also surfaced that the carrier will be offering promotions for their Motorola Droid RAZR line of smartphones. This includes a “buy one, free one” promotion, and will see Verizon bringing back their double data promotion which will cover 4G LTE plans. If all of this pans out, it looks like Friday is shaping up to be a day to look forward to, apart from all the usual TGIF cheer.
