Social network addicts, it looks like Twitter has just made your life easier with an update for its app for both iOS and Android. The update is now available for download and will contain a couple of features that Twitter users have been asking for, such as the swipe shortcut ability along with a new design and functionality improvements.

As far as both apps are concerned, the update will be adding a swipe shortcut that allows users to swipe a tweet in their home timeline to reply, retweet, favorite or share it, or view the Twitter user’s profile without having to leave your own timeline. The app has also added a Find Friends feature that uploads your contacts’ email address and phone numbers in order to quickly find which of your friends are on Twitter.

Twitter for Android has also been updated and is now optimized to run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, along with Amazon’s Kindle Fire, the Barnes and Noble NOOK Color and NOOK Tablet. The iOS version however will see the return of the copy and paste functionality, the changing of font sizes, updating the design of Direct Messages and will now allow users to share a link by either copying it or by emailing it.
