T-Mobile’s Nokia Astound will not get Nokia Belle update

The Nokia Belle update has started to roll out across Symbian Anna handsets over the past few days, but it looks like one particular Symbian Anna handset will not be seeing the Nokia Belle update, and it is none other than T-Mobile’s Nokia Astound. This was revealed by Nokia US via their Twitter (as pictured above) although no word on why this is the case.

Some have speculated that unlike the Symbian Anna update which was a mere 10MB, the Nokia Belle update weighs in at a whopping 250MB and T-Mobile might not want their customers eating up that much data on their network. It has also been suggested that perhaps T-Mobile and Nokia would prefer current Nokia owners to make the shift over to a slightly more modern device in the form of the Nokia Lumia 710.

At the moment unless T-Mobile and Nokia actually confirm why the Astound will not be receiving the Nokia Belle update, it’s pretty much all up in the air for now. Either way we’ll refrain from buying into the various speculations floating about the internet, but for now it looks like Nokia Astound owners will not be seeing the Nokia Belle update. Hopefully T-Mobile/Nokia will change their minds in the near future.
