The Samsung Galaxy S series of Android handsets have been advertised as being light and thin, but the upcoming Galaxy S3 is expected to be thinnest among its siblings. This is based on a recent rumor that has managed to leak its way onto the internet. If the reports are to be believed, we could very well be looking at a device that measures a mere 7mm thin, a good 1.5mm thinner than its predecessor, the Galaxy S2.

For those who might have missed the news, the Galaxy S3 is expected to be launched at a separate event in the middle of the year, with the rumors pegging it during May. Many had originally expected to see the device make its debut at MWC 2012 which will be taking place towards the end of the month, but Samsung has since come forward and confirmed that unfortunately the Galaxy S3 will not be making an appearance at MWC 2012.

While existence of the device has been confirmed, its specs continue to remain a mystery for now but rumors are saying that it will be a quad-core handset with 4G LTE connectivity, sport a 8MP rear-facing camera and a 2MP front-facing camera with the possibility of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on board.
