Many had assumed the rumored Nokia Lumia 610 will be a budget device that is powered by the Windows Phone Tango platform, but unfortunately that is not the case. While Windows Phone Tango was not announced at MWC 2012, the rumor about the Lumia 610 being a budget device is true.

The device will be powered by an 800MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 processor under its hood with 256MB of RAM, a 3.7” 800×480 WVGA TFT display, 8GB of internal storage, a 5MP rear-facing camera with LED flash and will run on a 1,300mAh battery. Now despite it being a budget device, the Lumia 610 will see the same features that come on Nokia’s other Lumia handsets.

This includes Nokia Maps, Nokia Music, Nokia Drive and a new feature dubbed Nokia Transport, a feature aimed at commuters and will provide door-to-door and step-by-step directions, along with bus/train/tram schedules for quite a number of cities all over the world. The Nokia Lumia 610 is expected to retail for 189 EUR (~$254) and will be available in Q2 of 2012.
