Nokia 801: Upcoming Nokia Belle handset? [Rumor]

While Nokia may have seemingly given up on Symbian in favor of Windows Phone, it does not mean that the Finnish company will stop producing Symbian devices altogether. In fact if the rendering above and the rumors are to be believed, what we are looking at is the Nokia 801, an upcoming Nokia Belle handset courtesy of SmartPhoneGeeks which was later “confirmed” by none other than Eldar Murtazin.

Based on these specs, what we are looking at here seems to be a blend between the Nokia Lumia 800 and the Lumia 900, with a screen size set at 4” with a 640×360 AMOLED ClearBlack display. It is also expected to sport a 1.4GHz processor with 512MB of RAM, a 12MP rear-facing camera with 1080p Full HD video recording.

Rumors of a Nokia handset with a 12MP Carl Zeiss camera have been spreading and have pointed to a possible Lumia 910 handset. However this rumor has since been refuted by Nokia themselves, but could it be possible that the rumors have gotten the details mixed up and that the rumored Nokia 801 is the handset with a 12MP Carl Zeiss camera? We’ll take this with a grain of salt for now, and if the device does exist, there is a good chance we’ll be seeing it at Nokia’s event come MWC 2012.
