Nokia 801 to run on Nokia Carla? [Rumor]

Symbian fans out there might be pleased by this piece of news, which is that of the Nokia 801 (pictured above). The rendering of the device has allegedly been leaked and sent to SmartPhoneGeeks courtesy of a tipster. We have seen this device before as it was leaked in the past, and it was also a phone that many suspected could be the successor to the Nokia N8.

Putting those rumors aside, this fresh set of rumors are now saying that the Nokia 801 will be running on an updated version of Symbian, which is apparently dubbed Carla and is the successor to the Belle update that recently rolled out not too long ago. The source is also saying that because the update is still in the works, the 801 will not be revealed just yet, but based on its specs, it is a device that Symbian fans could look forward to.

It will sport a 4” ClearBlack AMOLED display with a 1.4GHz processor with 512MB of RAM, a 12MP rear-facing camera capable of 1080p Full HD video recording, and for the most part will not feature buttons on the phone, much like the N9, Lumia 800 and Lumia 900 Windows Phones from Nokia. What do you guys think? Possible? We suggest taking this with a grain of salt for now, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for this one so check back with us in the future for updates.
