Motorola Atrix update rolling out, unfortunately it’s not Android 4.0

Heads up Motorola Atrix owners, it looks like an update is headed your way! Unfortunately this not the highly anticipated Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update, but we’re guessing that updates are still welcome, right? The latest update is expected to bring about a handful of improvements, such as Google Android security fixes, stability improvements, along with Bluetooth, WiFi, Messaging and Contacts enhancements. Details of the update can be seen in the screenshot above. Unfortunately for Atrix owners with rooted handsets, the update will be breaking root access, which means that you will need to root your phone again after you update – either that or you can skip the update entirely if you feel that you can live without its features. For those who want the update, it will be sent OTA, but if you have yet to receive the notification, go to your phone’s Settings > About phone > System Updates to pull it manually. Backing up your data and important information should be a given before proceeding with the update.
