Microsoft Office spotted on the iPad

While the iPad has a host of productivity suites of its own, such as iWork for example, one has to wonder if Microsoft would ever offer up Microsoft Office in an iPad version. After all, they are already offering a Mac version of Office, so why wouldn’t they bring it over onto the iPad, right? Well the good news for Microsoft enthusiasts is that thanks to a leaked photo obtained by The Daily (source link below), it looks like Microsoft Office for the iPad could be nearing a launch.

According to the source who leaked the photo to The Daily, it was reported that the interface of the upcoming app will be similar to that of OneNote but with traces of Microsoft’s Metro UI. At the moment it seems that there will be support for Word, PowerPoint and Excel but it is unclear if support for other Microsoft apps will be added in the future (think Outlook, Access, Publisher, etc). Unfortunately for our Android friends out there, it seems that Microsoft Office for Android is currently not in the works, and at the moment there is no word when the iPad version will be seeing a launch, but stay tuned as we will keep you updated! So, who else is looking forward to Microsoft Office on their iPad?
