iPhone 5 to be unveiled at WWDC in June 2012? [Rumor]

Apple in the past has used their mid-year event, the WWDC, as its platform to the launch the next-generation of iPhones. However last year proved to be the exception which saw the iPhone 4S launch in the later part of 2011. With the refresh cycle usually lasting a year, it was expected that the iPhone 5 will be seeing a launch in 2012 roughly the same time as the iPhone 4S, but that might not be the case. According to Digitimes, it seems that there is a chance we could be seeing the iPhone 5 launch at WWDC which is expected to take place in the middle of the year. As much as we’d like to believe that, by offering a brand new iPhone before the iPhone 4S turns a year old would most likely end up angering a lot of customers, and possibly the carriers who did not get much chance to milk the 4S for all its worth. Digitimes has had a pretty hit and miss record with Apple rumors in the past, so perhaps this is one rumor you’d need more than a grain of salt to go with.
