Apple’s next-generation iPad 3 is nearly around the corner if the rumors are to be believed. For those wondering, the rumors have pegged the iPad 3’s launch for the 7th of March, a little more than a week away, and undoubtedly speculation and rumors about the device have been running rampant. Well thanks to a fresh set of rumors, it seems that Apple’s next-gen iPad will cost more than its predecessor, to be more specific: $80 for more WiFi models and $70 more for 3G models.

In the past Apple has not really raised its prices by much, typically phasing out older products with newer products taking its place and being priced similarly. However in the case of the iPad 3, some are speculating that perhaps the inclusion of the rumored Retina display could be the reason why the next-gen iPad has been priced higher than its predecessors. However before you get all disappointed, it should be noted that these are mere rumors for now, but we will be keeping an out for an announcement, so check back with us in the future for updates.
