iPad 3 logic board pictured with A5X processor on board

The iPad 3 has yet to be launched, but it seems that with Android manufacturers churning out tablets with high-end specs, many iPad 3 hopefuls are looking forward to seeing some of that hardware make its way onto the rumored tablet. This has include features like a Retina display, LTE support, a better camera and a quad-core processor in the form of the rumored Apple A6 chipset.

Well thanks to the leaked photo above, what we are looking at is supposedly the iPad 3’s logic board with an A5X SoC on board. This seems to contradict previous rumors of an A6 processor, and based on the progression of part numbers (A4 was known as the S5L8930X, the A5 was known as the S5L8940X), the A5X’s part number of S5L8945X seems to suggest an upgrade most likely in clock speed rather than sporting a quad-core processor.

Once again, this information cannot be confirmed but with the iPad 3’s launch date rumored to be on the 7th of March, check back with us then for confirmation and for the details.
