iOS users, if you’ve been looking forward to the much anticipated iOS 5.1 update, which supposedly will address the battery woes that many iOS users are facing, it looks like you might not have to wait much longer. According to eleven new operator profiles published by Apple, these files are expected to be compatible with iOS 5.1, and thanks to a portion of the code (as pictured above), it was revealed that iOS 5.1 could be seeing a released come March 9th 2012.

For those unfamiliar, operator profiles are intended for use by operators/carriers, which ensures that the network connection between the iOS device and the carrier will work correctly after the iOS update. At the moment it’s pretty much up in the air when iOS 5.1 will be released: some have speculated that Apple will be releasing iOS 5.1 alongside the launch of the iPad 3 which is expected to be some time in March, but given that no official word has been released, we guess we have no choice but to wait. Either way 9th March might be a date worth marking down in your calendars until proven otherwise.
