If you live in France, you will soon be able to pick up an Orange-branded device from France Telecom which will feature an Intel chip underneath the hood. This would definitely be a seminal event, as this marks the chipmaker’s success in the past 10 years when it comes to breaking into the mobile device market. This particular smartphone will be paraded at MWC in Barcelona that is happening right now, and will arrive in France and the UK this summer. As for the operating system of choice, Google’s Android is it.

According to Patrick Remy, vice president of devices for France Telecom’s Orange business, “We are very happy about the way it came out. We really wanted to bring in this high-performance, high-speed element.” The handset will cater to those who cannot afford one of those newfangled high end smartphones, although no actual price tag has been set just yet.
