Apple goes after Samsung in California

So far Apple’s lawsuits against Samsung have mostly revolved around the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet, but now it looks like Apple wants to go after one of Samsung’s latest, and could be considered most-wanted device – the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Google’s third Nexus commissioned Android handset. Apple has asked a federal court in California to block Samsung from selling the Galaxy Nexus alleging that the South Korean company has violated some of its patents.

According to the complaint filed, Apple is alleging that Samsung infringed upon their patents which includes the ability to unlock phones by sliding an image, and also to search for information by voice. Naturally this move will not sit well with Samsung especially given how the US market is a vital market for Samsung, and if the injunction were to go through, Samsung could be in trouble. For now it is unclear what Samsung plans to do or how they will respond to Apple’s lawsuit, but if you were thinking of getting your hands on the Galaxy Nexus, perhaps now might be a good time as any as you never know whose favor the court could rule in.
