Apple allowed to sell iPads in Shanghai with the court’s approval

For those living in Shanghai, you guys will be pleased to hear that the Shanghai courts have given the OK nod to Apple to allow the sales of the iPad. For those wondering, this is part of the ongoing legal tussle between Apple and Chinese company, Proview, who is currently alleging that Apple does not have the rights to the iPad name and are seeking billions in damages along with the ban of the tablet in China.

However despite Apple gaining some reprieve in the Shanghai courts, a larger battle is at hand which is one at the Guangdong higher court which had initially ruled in Proview’s favor, but legal experts are thinking that with their win in Shanghai, Apple could use the win as a precedent in their battle against Proview in Guangdong.
