The HTC Rezound is apparently a world phone

If you were looking to get your hands on the HTC Rezound from Verizon but worried that it might not be a world phone, well your doubts may have been assuaged thanks to XDA forum member “i rule123”. Based in the UK, it seems that he accidentally placed an order for the HTC Rezound thinking it had world phone capabilities but was quick to discover otherwise. Unperturbed he decided to forge on ahead and using a SIM card from T-Mobile UK, he disabled LTE and to his surprise discovered a menu with options or “Global mode”, “GSM only”, “WCDMA only,” etc.

He discovered that he had no problems making phone calls but oddly enough sending SMS was giving him a bit of trouble. It should be noted that the Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8660 SoC on the Rezound has been listed with GSM and UMTS support, which we guess might explain its world phone capabilities despite it not being advertised as one. If you’d like more information on the HTC Rezound’s world phone capabilities, head on over to the XDA forums for more information.
