Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX confirmed for 26th January release

For those who might not have been satisfied with the Motorola Droid RAZR’s battery life, the good news is that your salvation is here in the form of the Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX. The device previously rumored for a 26th of January 2012 has been confirmed in a press release by Verizon themselves, so if you’re looking to start 2012 with a new smartphone sporting a massive battery, the Droid RAZR MAXX could be the answer to your battery woes.

Apart from its slight increase in body thickness to accommodate the new 3,300mAh battery, its internals will remain more or less the same as the Droid RAZR. What this means is that customers will be able to expect a 4.3” Super AMOLED display, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM under the hood, 16GB of internal storage, a 16GB microSD card preinstalled, 4G LTE connectivity and will run on Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread.

The Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX is expected to retail for $299 on a new two-year contract with Verizon, but if that’s a bit too pricey for your tastes and battery life isn’t that big of a deal to you, you will be interested to hear that the original Droid RAZR has seen its price slashed to $199 but will be missing a microSD card, which isn’t really that big of a deal to be honest.
